Understanding

There are many things in this world that I struggle to understand and many things I know are not for me to comprehend, or even to ask God why. With such things it needs to be enough to know that God is sovereign and merciful and only wants the best for each of us. However, some days it is hard to let that knowledge be enough. Today, as I attended the funeral of a friend, my emotions kept me from any understanding. After getting back home I realized I don't need to understand any of the questions I had. Jason loved the Lord and the Lord loved Jason. Christ also loves Jason's family and will not leave his wife and 2 little boys alone. Christ never promised us easy or what we consider equitable. He promised us unconditional love and eternal life which will be better than we could ever imagine.

It hurts that we will never see Jay again or hear his laugh - usually at you, not with you! He was always smiling and joking around and even pushing a few buttons to see just how much he could get away with, but most of all he was just Jay and he loved everyone. This has to be excruciating for his wife and family. I cannot imagine the pain they are experiencing at this time. Please lift them up in prayer. Pray that they would feel God's love through all of this and pray that they may find a peace that surpasses all understanding.

You are greatly missed my friend...
