Marriage

I just read this on msn. I am saddened that so many people actually want to be more like those in Hollywood and use the famous as their ideal of aspiration. I am sickened at the idea of living in sin being considered a 'dress rehearsal for the real thing' and of marriage being compaired to an 'institution with baggage'. I can only imagine how it must grieve our Lord. Has it ever occurred to these people that just maybe the divorce rate got so high because people have forgotten what marriage truly is? Marriage is not an institution with baggage, it is not an engine for losing ones identity, and it should not be considered as the old fashioned way of doing things.

So what is marriage? Marriage is a promise to God, to your spouse, and to the family you become. Did God not take the church as His bride? If people would start putting those things back in their definition of marriage, maybe the rate of divorce would go down and maybe people would start taking it more seriously again. Let's consider being less accepting of what marriage means and get back to what it actually is.
