Get Your Motor Run'n

This month the motors on two of my most used baby items stopped working. I don't know if they realized it was baby #4 or that it has been nearly 8 years since we got them. Either way, Adam has torn them both apart to try and Macgyver fix them.

This is, or was my breast pump. Adam was unable to fix it and suggests that I manually blow air into the pump part to make it work. No thanks!

Here is our baby swing. My husband was able to hot wire it to get it going again. We have to either buy more batteries or plug it into the wall, as shown here. The cord you see in the picture is my old cell phone charger - it was only a matter of time before we jumped on the "go green" bandwagon.

This is a closer look at Adam's handy-work. The swing works great now and Judah is going to LOVE Kennywood when he gets older. (The only speed this swing now has is super fast - a bit of a problem.) - Cindy, if you are still offering we would be very happy to borrow a swing from the daycare!

And the Academy Award goes to...

Elijah Thompson! For his portrayal of a young boy with a broken foot.

Elijah sprained his ankle last night. He and Isaiah were racing each other down the steps and he fell. You would have thought he got shot to hear him screaming and crying, though. Very dramatic. He was sure it was broken and was much more painful than when Isaiah broke his arm. We took him to the hospital and they gave him crutches and sent him home. He is in pain, but he is also going to live to tell about it! - And if you ask you will get the entire story told in vivid detail. He is thoroughly enjoying the attention and Isaiah is treating him like royalty. Kinda makes a sore foot feel a little bit better.

Etsy Find Friday

I love coffee and I love to have it in great, big, huge mugs. These are some that caught my eye on etsy. Can you believe they are all hand made? These people are so much more creative than me! I especially love the last one.

Winter Warm Up

Ok, I love the snow but I'm not in-love with the snow and I'm kinda ready to see it go. If it would fall and stay for a couple days and then just dissapear for a while I would love it a whole lot more. Oh, and if it were possible to come without the bitter cold then maybe I could be in-love with it. But it can't and it takes time to melt and everything gets muddy and dirty and it's very cold and it has me yearning for the beach.

So, today after Elijah got on the bus and Peanut and Jojo were lounging in sleepy not fully awakedness, I googled 'best beaches in the world'. Many people and sites have many opinions and I got to brows through tons of pictures. Anyway, I decided to share what I found with you. Of the lists I looked through, there were 6 beaches that made them all.

Anse Source D'Argent, La Digue, Seychelles. Seychelles is an island in the Indian Ocean north of Madagascar.

Ipanema Beach, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Poipu Beach, Kauai, Hawaii

Pink Sands Beach, Harbor Island, the Bahamas

Clifton Beach, Cape Town, South Africa

Matira Point, Bora Bora, Tahiti

What can I say, I'm a sand and surf and hot weather kind of gal! Maybe one day I will get to visit one of these beautiful places. I hope I helped you warm up a little and I will leave you with my personal favorite beach, Waikiki.

What is yours?

Into The Woods

It has been over a week since I posted anything with substance. We have been a bit busy. Not just with baby Judah, but we have had birthday parties and a new king size mattress to deal with and a huge decision all in the past week.

After talking and thinking and praying Adam and I made the decision to send the boys back to school. I enjoyed homeschooling - but could tell the boys desperately missed the everyday interaction with other kids. We called Evangel Heights but they only had room for Elijah, so that was not an option. I really did not want to send them to Armstrong and I was a mess over it emotionally. I felt that if I sent them there it would be like sending them into the dark woods all alone. It just wasn't what I wanted. However, with a new baby and 6 people living, working and schooling all together all the time in a small house - it just was not working. Something had to change and I could see the boys needed to be around other kids again - even if it meant sending them to public school.

Yesterday was their first day and wow were they excited. They were both a little nervous, but they both had great days and I feel a little more at ease with it. I missed them terribly and that won't get better, but I can see that this was indeed the best choice for our family. They are both on the waiting list at Evangel Heights for next year - so we are all praying the Lord will work it out!

Josiah missed Elijah and Isaiah also and asked where they were all day. He did find time to help himself to a snack while I was nursing Judah. He even tried to clean it up all by himself too.

Birthday Weekend

So, Saturday was my 31st birthday and I got to celebrate all weekend long! I had such a blessed and fun weekend. I have to say (as a side note) I am so glad that this past year is over. 2008 proved to be the hardest year of my life so far.

Homeschooling while pregnant and raging with hormones was extremely difficult and the lack of any good sleep only made things harder. Throw in a husband who works from home and you get two tired, possibly overwhelmed, parents that are not just sick of seeing each other but are ready to kill each other at any given moment! God was faithful and graceful through it all and I am feeling like a new woman. How amazingly blessed am I?!! 4 great boys, a husband who loves and puts up with me, and family that loves and supports me. I am healthy, my kids are healthy, I have food on my table and a car to go get more, I have a roof over my head with heat and funny looking animals in my yard, I have friends to laugh and cry with and the hope and security of Jesus Christ! What do I have to complain about?

Ok, so back to my great bday weekend. Friday night Adam and the boys made me an awesome dinner and a chocolate cake. Saturday morning they made breakfast while I slept in and then we went out and enjoyed all the snow. That night my mother-in-law watched the boys so Adam and I could go to Shoguns with friends. And finally on Sunday, my mom made me a special breakfast-dinner and a cake complete with the whole family. I took pictures all weekend and put them into a slide show. Thank you to everyone who helped make my birthday so special!

New Pics

I know it's been awhile since my last post, life is a bit mixed up right now. I hear having a baby will do that to you! I just wanted to post some new pictures of the little guy. They aren't the best but at least it's something.
