Duct Tape

These gifts are wrapped in paper bags with duct tape ribbon and bows. I started this post thinking I would only blog about the bows. However, that changed when I was looking for a picture to illustrate the many colors duct tape actually comes in. It's over 30 and you can even buy glow in the dark.

Anyway, that is where this post took a turn. While looking for the perfect picture, I kept running into photos of real people who actually used duct tape to create Prom dresses and tuxedos. So naturally, I had to bring them to you. The whole thing is wrong on so many levels! Who even has the time?

More Photoshop Fun

I love photo friendly time wasters and today I found another one. FaceinHole has a ton of pictures to choose from and many of them are celebrities or movie posters. You can turn your creation into a gift too. This site will make your new picture into a t-shirt for you for $20. How fun! These are some I did quickly today.

This is my favorite!

Remember This?

Back in October you may remember I wrote about an ornament exchange I was taking part in. I finally sent out my ornament last week to Illinois. I hope the intended recipient got it and truly likes it! I also just received one yesterday. It came from a woman who lives in Mississippi and the actual ornament is from St. Thomas.

This is the one I sent. I used an old light bulb for the body, painted it white and added the rest with my glue gun. I love making these and had a lot of fun doing it for someone I have only 'met' through a blog!

This is the one I received - very cute!

34 shopping days until Christmas! 11 days until New Baby Thompson!!!!!

Turkeys

As Thanksgiving is a week and a half away we have been learning a little about it during our school day. For an art project I had the boys make their very own turkeys. They traced their hands on brown construction paper, cut it out and then covered them in glue and feathers. Then we added orange pipe cleaners for legs. They had a great time and only left a minimal amount of glued feathers on my table! They look thrilled to be getting their picture taken, don't they?

I also had them put magnets on the back so we could hang them on the fridge. Here is the finished product up on my fridge!

Photo Shoot

With every pregnancy Adam has asked me to go and get pictures taken. I hate to have my picture taken - especially when I am not feeling so great about myself. So, I have always told him no because I'm just not comfortable with it. Well, I had a change of heart - I think because this pregnancy was not planned by us and I really felt like I had been given another chance to to something special for my husband. Anyway, I hauled the boys out with me and we had some pictures taken. Here are two of them.

18 days

We scheduled a date for induction at my doctor appointment yesterday. December 2nd I will go in to have this baby! That leaves me with only 18 days left to get everything done. I have never gone any earlier than 5 days and the 2nd is a week before my due date, so I look to stay put until that day. But who knows, maybe all the Thanksgiving day travel will put me into labor a little earlier.

36 weeks

So, this week I am 36 weeks pregnant. I can tell the baby has dropped which is normal for this week. He is also weighing in around 6 pounds this week and nearly 19 inches long - wow can they really get bigger? Ok, I know from experience they do indeed get bigger! The only organ left to mature are the lungs. I am excited and I have certainly started "nesting". I have gone through this every pregnancy - for some reason I feel like I have to move around all my furniture in addition to getting everything perfect for the baby! The pictures are not of my little guy but they were taken at 36 weeks. Pretty amazing how God works, huh?!

10 Years and Counting

10 years ago today I went on my very first blind date. It was also my last. I met Adam that night and have never looked back. I had no idea then what an amazing man he was and would become. I have been so amazingly blessed to have spent the last 10 years of my life with him. He is a great provider for our family and the best father our boys could ask for. So, to celebrate the past 10 years I decided to make a little slide show of some of my favorite pictures.

Thanks for all the great times Adam, I love you and I love the family we have become! I could have never imagined all of this. God is so good!

Black Friday

If you don't know what this post is about by the title, then you do not need to read on!

I am one of the thousands of crazy people who wake up at 3:00 in the morning the day after Thanksgiving (or do not go to bed at all) to go out Christmas shopping for "The Deals". Braving the cold, rain and sometimes snow. It is a ritual among the women in my Husband's family and they have made me an addict. I am terribly saddened that I will not be partaking of the ritual this year. I will be far too pregnant to make the trek. And my doctor strongly opposes my participation.

This will be the first year in 8 years that I will miss it, and by now we have gotten so good we know how to avoid most of the lines and confusion. I'm still not sure how to process all of this... no Sheetz breakfast sandwich with Becky and Liz at 4:00am in front of Toys R Us, no waiting in line at Kohl's with Joy while we take turns looking through the men's/young men's section, no second breakfast/lunch with the whole crazy bunch of us, no Costco, no mall, no sorting through cars looking for lost items in Cindy's driveway...I just can't imagine.

Ok, the actual point of this post is to inform any die hard Black Friday shoppers of a great website that gives you a sneak peak into the Black Friday ads before Thanksgiving. Gottadeal is the best place to search BF ads and be ahead of the game. You can also register to have the newest ads emailed to you as they get them in. Some stores will also have door busters on specific days in November prior to Black Friday and gottadeal will email those to you too.

Happy shopping! Oh, and by the way - I have never seen a crowd of people like the one in the picture in all 8 years I have been going. Though, the Best Buy lines last year came pretty close!

Guessing Game

Lately I have been wondering a lot about what our new little guy will look like. Elijah, Isaiah, and Josiah all looked so much alike when they were born that I can't help but think about it. I also couldn't help taking a peek into the past via pictures. Can you tell who is who?

Well, it probably isn't too hard since I had to scan in two of the pictures! The order is Josiah, Elijah, and Isaiah. Elijah has an IV in his picture which is why his shirt is half off. So anyway, I'm excited to see and hold and cuddle and kiss the new little man!
