Children's Museum

We took a "field trip" to the Children's Museum today. It was a ton of fun and the best trip yet because there were hardly any other kids there! When you go with a big group it's hard to keep an eye on all the kids and just too crowded. Sunny, Zoe and Ian joined us for the day and we nearly had the place to ourselves.

Mystery Meat?

So, this evening I was digging through my fridge trying to figure out where all my containers have disappeared. For some reason we end up with tons of containers in our refrigerator that have only a scoop of food in them - usually covered in green fuzz. I pulled out 4 containers all of which I knew the contents - and then I saw it. The mystery meat container. It was on the very bottom shelf, way in the back, shoved in the corner behind the jar of Mayo.

I pulled it out. I examined it carefully - not sure at all what was inside. I didn't remember putting it in the fridge and I couldn't tell what it was, or used to be, just by looking at it and shaking it. I was going to have to go in, the lid was going to have to come off. I took a deep breath not sure what I was going to see - or smell. Very carefully I twisted the lid and peeked in. I was completely astonished by what I found inside.

If you can't tell, that is dirt and within the dirt are real, live, worms! My boys dug them up themselves - clear back in August!!! I was shocked to find it in my fridge, but even more shocked to find them alive. We decided to set the little guys free and throw out the container!

REDO

<-----This is not a girl body, but I hope the new image below makes Mr. Hepler a little happier.

Below is Darin from 1980. Actually, this kind of looks like a picture I have seen of my Uncle Ted from about that same time!Either way it's an improvement from the original picture - Just kidding Darin!

Decorations

I just wanted to share the scarecrow that the boys helped me to make.

They helped me pick out the flowers and they each picked their own pumpkin too.

I have wanted a fall wreath for a long time now but never got one. I finally decided to just make one!
Hope you are having as much fun as we are this fall!

"No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace as I have seen in one autumnal face" - John Donne

We had a chance to go up to the Cessna's camp this past weekend. It was a much needed break from the everyday and I had a chance to relax and just rest. The boys had a great time climbing trees, hiking in the woods and getting rides on the motorcycle and quad. We also ate a ton of apples off the trees, went fishing, roasted marshmallows and just enjoyed the beautiful weather we were blessed with! Thanks for a relaxing weekend Sunny and Rich!

Christmas Really?

I just checked my friends blog and she posted about an ornament exchange hosted by Pampering You. I had to join in on the fun! I love Christmas Ornaments and I love to make and buy them for others. This is simple and easy, also. All you have to do is sign up and then you will be partnered with someone for the exchange. The ornament can be made by hand or you can buy one; either way no more than $10. Easy right? So what are you waiting for? Go sign up!

I am also a HUGE fan of Christmas music. Well, anything Christmas really! Anyway, over at CCM they have some Christmas songs available for free download from some great artists. They are also doing a Give and Receive Christmas Music Giveaway where you can win 5 cd's for you and 5 of the same cd's to give as gifts. All you have to do is sign up; you are not required to register on their site to enter the giveaway. Also very easy! So, hop to it!
