30 Weeks

This is not our little guy, just about how big he is and what he looks like now. At week 30 most of the organs are developed - just waiting on the lungs. He is about 3 pounds now and around 15.5 inches long.

So, what's new with me? I am getting huge, heartburn abounds and I am always up for a nap. Especially with this weather! The cloudiness and rain make the perfect atmosphere for an afternoon nap. Nothing new to report and we still don't have a name for our little guy.

Welcome Autumn

The other night we had a little fire to kick off Autumn. We roasted some marshmallows and made some smores. A fun and yummy time was had by all!

Stank Cast

Does anyone out there have a good remedy for a stinky cast? This cast reeks like you wouldn't believe and it's only been a week! I try and keep his hand as clean as I can, but he still runs and plays and climbs and falls in dirt and hikes through the woods...It really smells bad.

Flowers

All summer long my boys have been bringing me hand picked flowers. I take them and smell them and talk about how beautiful they are and then I put them in water and show them off. The bunches have been getting bigger and bigger and they have started getting very creative with the bouquets. Well, today Elijah comes running into the house with a huge smile on his face. He brought me the biggest bouquet of flowers yet - in the form of an actual branch! He was so proud of himself and I was trying very hard to keep a serious face as I put it in my vase.

I love having boys and I love that they enjoy bringing me special flowers and other things to make the house a bit more girlie! I felt very blessed today.

New Obsession

My latest obsession/time waster is Etsy. It's a web site for people who make things and want to sell them. It's a great site and you can find some really amazing things on it. They have everything too.

Check out this cute hat. What little girl wouldn't love to have a hat like this? And with fall creeping up on us, now is the perfect time for a hat like this.

Are you in the market for a new piece of jewelry? They have a TON on Etsy and at great prices too. They have really unusual and unique things and they have the trendy stuff and everything in between too. I happen to be partial to this spoon ring.

How about stationary? They have that as well. From paper, to cards, to homemade stamps. I found this pop-out card that is blank and could be used for anything.

Need something new to hang on your wall, or looking for a great gift idea. You can find all sorts of art on Etsy and most of it is very affordable. You can also get photography and hand made frames.

I even found this cool clock.

Anyway, there is so much to look at and pick through and at such great prices it is worth checking out. Also, there are only 96 shopping days left until Christmas and even less for some of us!

As Promised

Peanut with his cast. He did not want to stop and take the time to have a picture taken today! Anyway, he got it done Wednesday and decided to go with black because it was the coolest. He is getting used to it, but needs help getting dressed and going to the bathroom. Let me tell you how much fun it is to wipe a 5 year old's butt! He tried by himself but nearly fell off the pot, so I don't mind. He is upset that he is not allowed to ride his bike and tries to convince me everyday that he can. Josiah is obsessed with the cast and hits it with everything he can find.

It wasn't a terrible break and it's not on any growth plates. Isaiah says now that the real cast is on it feels much better. He feels pretty special and loves the attention, so don't be feeling too bad for him! ;) He is back to goofing off with his brothers like they didn't miss a beat!

Just When I Thought...

...I had nothing to blog about Isaiah falls out of a tree and breaks his arm. He and Elijah were outside playing in the woods yesterday and about 20 minutes into their adventures Adam and I heard Peanut crying. We went out to the deck to see Lij gingerly walking his little brother to the house. He had his arm around Isaiah's shoulder and Isaiah was holding on to his own left arm. Sure enough, both bones ended up breaking by his wrist. Adam had to take him to the hospital since I'm pregnant. He doesn't have an official cast yet, apparently we have to go to an Orthopedic Surgeon to have that done. We called this morning but the doctor was in surgery all day, so maybe tomorrow. At least Isaiah will have a little more time to decide what color he wants!

Anyway, here is a picture with his splint and sling. When he gets the cast I will put up a picture of that too. Get your sharpies ready I'm sure he will be thrilled to have you all sign it!

Cyber School

Well, we are two weeks into this Cyber School stuff and it's going pretty well. The first week was a bit of a challenge with Josiah, but we seem to have gotten into a rhythm that is working for everyone. We still have our moments, but breaks are good even when unexpected!

Elijah was not used to such a light work load the first week and even asked if I was doing it right because "it really didn't seem hard enough". I spent time over last weekend delving into his curriculum and we have stepped up the pace in Math and Reading. He no longer thinks I'm doing it wrong ;)

Isaiah is loving the Math work and we can get two lessons done in one day. The writing is another story; my stubborn boy doesn't like the assignments. He does enjoy everything else though. He and Elijah really enjoy their Science books and kits and would love to do just that every day. Which is why I put a picture of a flower on this post. Elijah is learning about plants and we used this picture in one of his observation activities - Isaiah likes to do the activities with us too!

I was so stressed and had so much anxiety over all of this the first week. I never thought I would be in this position, but here I am and the Lord is helping me through it! Keep us in your prayers for this school year and I will keep you all updated on how things are going. I haven't wanted to run away crying yet, but it is still early...

Great Idea

I found this great way to showcase favorite family pictures today and had to share it. All they did was duct tape inexpensive frames together to make one big one. Genius! The web site is Domino and they have pictures of other ideas too, but I liked this one the best. What a great way to show off pictures and cover a big space at the same time!
